CMT well represented at Maryland’s Third Annual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Legislative Awareness Day.
Three CMT members consisting of Lance Fischer (Chair), Phil Aiello (Fundraising, Exhibits, and Sponsorship), and Willis Mann (Public Relations) attended the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Legislative Awareness Day on February 20, 2012, in Annapolis, MD. Director Lisa Kornberg of the Governor’s Office of Deaf and Hard of Hearing arranged this annual event. Our objective was to see if the State of Maryland could provide assistance with some of the costs especially for CART and service for the deaf-blind conference participants. We were able to establish links with some important people and hopefully they may be able to provide assistance for the conference.
We met briefly with Lieutenant Governor Anthony G. Brown. He was impressed with our work and he has indicated his willingness to be of assistance to us if asked. He may even come to our welcome reception and personally welcome conference attendees to Maryland.
